As an artist, I respond to the less obvious and dramatic colours of this species, and the shapes are very dramatic – The two hanging petals seem to curve back more than Diuris orientis – I am such a fan of this species, and I waited a year to get these shots, never imagining I would find such large and splendid examples in one location, but as I have said before, our orchids are almost always smaller than their tropical counterparts, and these are no exception!
